Just as humans do, every element has its own cycle of birth, growth, decline, and death. These words may or may not apply literally, but when we read a Ba Zi we want to look at what the growth stage of each element means to the day master. An understanding of The 12 Life Stages, 12 Growth Stages or 12 Growth Palaces is crucial for accurate analysis.
There are at least two or three ways to apply this concept to a Ba Zi. By understanding the quality (vibrant? conception? etc) of any element you will become more accurate in your forecasting.
