Beginner’s I Ching Divination Workshop

Posted on October 19, 2026 by Stephanie Stewart

Join us on Saturday October 24th 2026 on Zoom from 9-11 am PDT for the Beginner’s I Ching Workshop. All are welcome. This is a free offering. Sign up here.

I will send out the class materials and a Zoom link to those who have signed up on Friday October 23rd.

The Yi Jing (I Ching), aka Book of Changes, is a fundamental source of the principles that are used in Ba Zi and Feng Shui. This workshop will deal with the most basic of its concepts – all you really need to begin lifetime study.

Begin your studies with the I Ching by learning how to formulate a question and cast the coins to create, then interpret, a Hexagram. This class is meant for beginners or those with no experience who want to engage with the Yi Jing or Book of Changes as a method of divination.

We’ll start with some basic concepts about trigrams and elements, and then we will cast the coins, record the Hexagram, and begin to interpret. We will not look up the results until we’ve done some basic interpretation. You may be surprised to see how with a few simple methods you can begin to apply this ancient wisdom to your life.

In this class you will learn:

How to formulate a question
How to cast the coins and identify the Hexagram (2 Trigrams) you’ve cast
Beginning interpretation

What you will need:

Three coins of the same denomination
Pen and paper
A copy of the I Ching or access to online resources for looking up your Hexagram

Take away instructions and other class materials will be provided. We will have time for questions.

There will not be a video recording for this class.

Sign up for 8 House Feng Shui Class October 17th

Posted on October 8, 2026 by Stephanie Stewart

Join us on Saturday October 17 from 9-11 am PDT to learn the basics of the system of Ba Zhai also known as 8 House or 8 Mansions.

This intro level class is for anyone who is interested in Feng Shui. You’ll learn to calculate your Ming Gua, your good directions and locations, and the proper orientation of houses that fit you. Some familiarity with Trigrams and an ability to use an analog compass is helpful but not required.

Ba Zhai is one of the most easily accessible systems of Feng Shui. It’s not that complex, and yet it’s quite powerful in application. Many Feng Shui issues can be avoided or solved simply by getting this one system right.

Once you learn how to calculate the Ming Gua, you can apply this system to any house, based on any person. You can share your knowledge with others and eliminate guesswork. Anyone who has a compass can make quick decisions about whether a house will fit them – or not!

If you’re a Realtor or real estate agent, use this method and increase your returning clients.

As of now, the dates available to book are for November but I will be adding more later for December and January. The Year of the Fire Sheep starts on February 4th 2027 so you still have plenty of time to prepare.

To be notified when new dates are added, subscribe to the blog below or follow me on Instagram, BlueSky, or Threads.

The dominant energy and energetic patterns of Chinese Astrology change each year and so many of my clients book an annual bazi. It helps them to take advantage of good luck and mitigate any bad luck. If you like to know what to expect, I can tell you by way of the Four Pillars in your Bazi.

The Details

In trying to counter the energy of inflation, I’m keeping my prices the same for now but I may raise them a bit next year. There are three options:

Annual Reading for New Clients
Includes a copy of your bazi, ten year luck pillars, other information you can apply to everyday life, and general forecasting about what the year will be like for you.

Annual Reading for Return clients
Covers general forecasting about what the year will be like for you and your questions.

Annual Reading for Return clients with Mini Month by Month Forecast
Covers general forecasting about what the year will be like for you and a mini month by month breakdown. Use the dropdown menu in the scheduling page to select this option.

Monthly Meetup – Sundown with Earth Dog

Posted on September 17, 2026 by Stephanie Stewart

The Earth Dog month begins on Thursday October 8th. Join us for the Monthly Meetup on Saturday October 10th from 9-10 am PDT (Seattle time). The Monthly Meetup is a Chinese Astrology discussion group. All are welcome!

The date of the Midterm Elections in the US is Tuesday November 3rd, a Metal Snake day falling near the end of the Earth Dog month. I think Metal Snake is one of the most hazardous pillars for the United States. Come to the Meetup if you want to know more about that.

But wait, there’s more!

I’ve done some divination by way of the Hexagram that corresponds to the Earth Dog pillar to see what could be happening around election time. The message I received was unexpected! As a diviner I think that is exactly what you want. I don’t want the answers to come from me. I want them to come to or through me.

From now until the end of the year, these months we are experiencing give an opportunity to re-do choices we made in 2017-2020…or not. What will you do with this window of opportunity?

Among the topics up for discussion:

Hexagram 15 Qian 謙
Modesty & Humility
Virtue & Morals
Taking sides
Characteristics of Earth Dog
Earth element in 2026
Fire enters the Tomb
The Bullying Punishment
Midterm Elections in the US
Your Questions
As many practical applications of Bazi as possible

The Monthly Meetup is a monthly Chinese astrology discussion group that is included with a subscription to the Monthly Guide. You can also sign up here to attend a single meetup and receive a single copy of the Guide.

Daily Flying Stars Class 2026

Posted on September 2, 2026 by Stephanie Stewart

WHEN: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26th 2026
WHERE: LIVE ON ZOOM
Sign up here.

Xuan Kong Fei Xing or Flying Stars is a time and space based system that identifies energy pockets within a building, city, country… the world. The daily Flying Stars can be applied as a divination method to a space (Feng Shui), or as a suggestion of what the day might be like. The Lo Shu of any day tells a story, including a cast of characters.

All Flying Stars are associated with elements and have a multitude of meanings, but of course their meaning to us is more specific. For example, if you know that Fire is a helpful element for you, then a Nine Purple day might be your cup of tea. In Period 9, a 9 Purple day could be a bit much for some of us.

While there are many calculations for the daily Flying Stars, the two calculations you will learn in this class are widely accepted and used.

In both methods, we will consider several markers in the Hsia calendar in order to get it right. When I first learned to calculate the daily Flying Stars, there seems to have been one important rule that was left out!

In the first method, the numbers are continuous. In the second one, which was passed on to me by a student of Joseph Yu and Raymond Lo, there are “skips” sometimes. When you understand the first method it will be easy to learn the more complicated one. You’ll also learn how to check your work so you can be confident in your calculation.

We will warm up with learning how to calculate the Annual and Monthly Flying Stars. These are easy.

Group class tuition is free if you already purchased the Fire Horse 2026 Almanac

Daily Flying Stars are published with the Serious Dailies.

Fire Rooster Month – The Body Again

Posted on August 24, 2026August 24, 2026 by Stephanie Stewart

The Fire Rooster month begins on Monday September 7th. Join us for the Monthly Meetup on Saturday September 5th from 9-10 am PDT (Seattle time).

The last time we had an extended period of Fire Rooster energy was 2017. That was the first year of Trump’s first presidency. That year, there was a total solar eclipse with a path of totality that crossed the United States from approximately Oregon to South Carolina, effectively splitting the nation into north and south. Maybe we have been in a civil war since then. This is something we discussed at the Monthly Meetup last month.

Among the topics up for discussion this month:

Hexagram 31 Xian 咸 or Gan 感?
Upper Canon/Lower Canon
Blue Lagoon
The Body Again
The Nature of Fire Rooster pillar
What’s a Water Dragon got to do with it?
Flying Stars and Fu Yin

As many practical applications of BaZi as possible

Monthly Meetup – Fire Monkey

Posted on July 30, 2026 by Stephanie Stewart

The Fire Monkey month begins on Friday August 7th. Join us for the Monthly Meetup on Saturday August 8th from 9-10 am PDT (Seattle time).

It will be an interesting month for the United States. America was born in 1776 (a Fire Monkey year). When pillars match up like this it’s called Fu Yin which usually means a “crying event”. We’ll talk about that, but also about what the month could be like for us personally which is a different matter!

Among the topics up for discussion:

Hexagram 40 Jie 解
The Gordian Knot
Being bold
Becoming Uncomplacent
The Nature of Fire Monkey and how we might apply it to these times
The connection between the timing of the Declaration of Independence and the Consitution
Flying Stars and tracking outbreaks

For $27.00 you get a copy of the Monthly Guide and admission to the Monthly Meetup. If you’re a student on a limited budget, you could learn more about Bazi each month by way of the Guide. That’s true for beginners and those who have been studying for awhile too.

I do sometimes cover more technical topics, but always with learners in mind. I work to make the knowledge accessible to you wherever you are now. And – since we are there together in real time, you can ask questions if you don’t understand or want to know more.

It’s the oral tradition at its finest. To encourage candid discussion, no recording will be made. You’ve gotta be there.

Bazi Classes for May 2026

Posted on May 5, 2026May 5, 2026 by Stephanie Stewart

I’m offering two bazi classes in May for those who are familiar with the basics and are ready to go a step further. In both classes we will talk about the “rules” as well as what it might be like to experience these concepts in real life.

Penalty, Punishment, Harm and Destruction – Saturday May 16th 9-11 am PDT (Seattle time)

In assessing a person’s life situation, these are important concepts to address. Sometimes the elemental dynamics turn out to be supportive and welcome in some way.

Twelve Life Stages – Saturday May 30th 9-11 am PDT (Seattle time)

As is the case with humans, every element has Life Stages that follow a cycle. We can interpret the timing of elements as they relate to the course of a life, which elements are most vibrant in a chart and which are not.
