If you’re familiar with the 10 Heavenly Stems and the 12 Earthly Branches, it will only take an hour to get comfortable navigating and using the lunisolar Hsia calendar. Sometimes known as the 10,000 year calendar , this book is a fundamental tool for any kind of Date Selection. Cheaper and more fun than using a calculator. Go analog!

Wu Xing For Ba Zi 1

Learn how to identify the elements in your own Ba Zi, empower your independent study of Ba Zi or enrich your perspective on the Five Elements by taking the first session of this three part class.

Wu Xing for Ba Zi (Session 1) is an introduction to the core principle of Ba Zi and Feng Shui. We will approach this topic as a study of movements or processes. Wu Xing is dynamic, not static.

By the end the third session, by knowing the element of your day stem you will be able to identify what each of the Five Elements means to you.

Heavenly Stems are hidden within each Earthly Branch. Knowing which Stems are hidden in the Branch we can gain even more insight about the Ba Zi and how it works.

CLASH! Course

What is a clash? What clashes you? In the 2025 CLASH! Course we will focus on the clash between 巳 Snake and 亥 Pig which we’re all going to experience.

What does that mean on a global level? What does it mean on a personal level? The personal part will depend on your Ba Zi which will reveal clues about how you can best manage clash for yourself.

Ba Zi Combinations

What is a combination in a Ba Zi? Combinations often bring something good. What changes elementally speaking? What does it mean to combine? What does it look like in real life? Who benefits in a Snake year? What happens when elements want to combine but can’t? Bring your Ba Zi to the conversation if you like!

Relationships and Compatibility

What do people want to know about the most, maybe even more than money? They want to know when they will meet someone, fall in love, get married or commit, or all of the above.

Why do some people seem to find love so easily? Why is it harder for others? There are specific characteristics in a natal chart that will help you to understand these things.

In this two hour class we explore how to use the Ba Zi to determine compatibility or synastry. This can be applied to any relationship – not just the romantic ones.

Penalty, Punishment, Harm & Destruction

Everyone knows that life can be hard sometimes, and if there is a Penalty, Punishment, Harm or Destruction in a Ba Zi sometimes it can help us understand more about what is happening. More importantly, by understanding these difficult dynamics, we will be able to come up with some (un)common sense solutions that go beyond avoiding trouble.

Twelve Life Stages

Add further nuance to your Ba Zi readings by learning about the Twelve Growth Stages. An understanding of The 12 Life Stages, 12 Growth Stages or 12 Growth Palaces is crucial for accurate analysis.

Just as humans do, every element has its own cycle of birth, growth, decline, and death. This may or may not be literal, but when we read a Ba Zi we want to look at what the growth stage of each element means to the day master.

Shi Shen : Ten Spirits or Ten Gods

The component of Ba Zi called Shi Shen, 10 Spirits, Ten Gods or Shifting Palace is what will allow you to identify people in a person’s life and their relationship to the person. Secret feelings will also be revealed!

If you’re comfortable with elemental cycles, you’re already prepared to learn this technique. Fluency with the Shi Shen can’t be faked in a reading. You will want to know this system backwards and forwards, so to speak.

Void is one of the least taught and possibly the least understood of the foundational principles of a Ba Zi. Lucky for you, in my 23+ years of study I’ve gathered quite a bit of information from knowledgeable teachers and other sources.

The finishing touch on any Introductory Series to Ba Zi is a lesson on the Special Stars or 神煞 Shen Sha that are present in any natal chart. Who knows how many Shen Sha there are? Definitely too many to cover in this class which is why I’ve selected the ones I use the most to share with you.

Beginner’s Yi Jing Divination Workshop

Yi Jing 易经, also known as the I Ching or Book of Changes, is a core text for students of Ba Zi or Feng Shui, however, anyone can engage with the Yi Jing as a method of divination.

If you’ve been unsure as how to plunge in to this lifetime study, start here! Toss the coins, record the result, identify the hexagram, begin to interpret. That’s the focus of this workshop.

Date Selection 1 : Concepts

Do you like patterns?
Do you want to learn how to do some practical magic?
Do you want to know what’s behind the Serious Dailies?
Date Selection is done in order to take advantage of timing; to extend the luck of a day or moment in time. For example, Feng Shui practitioners use it when placing water, but this technique is quite useful for every day life. Who wouldn’t want to know when to do what? Make your efforts count. You want to know when you’re going against your luck, and know when it’s time to ride it. Usually, bad luck means it’s time for you to prepare for the good luck.

Date Selection 2 : Practical Applications

In the first part of this Workshop we cover concepts. In this second part, we want to apply what you’ve learned to your Ba Zi and/or any date.

Now it’s time to learn when to execute your plans, and when to prepare. When is it time to rest? If you want to know when you might get a new job or relationship, what do you look for?

Ba Zhai : Eight House or Eight Mansions

Ba Zhai is one of the most easily accessible systems of Feng Shui. It’s not that complex, and yet it’s quite powerful in application. Many Feng Shui issues can be avoided or solved simply by getting this one system right.

Once you learn how to calculate the Ming Gua, you can apply this system to any house, based on any person. You can share your knowledge with others and eliminate guesswork. Anyone who has a compass can make quick decisions about whether a house will fit them – or not!
